A.I. better in the expansions than in the original GalCiv 2 ?

Is the A.I. any better in the 2nd Expansion than in the 1st or even compared to the original GalCiv2 ? Have the A.I routines been tweaked or have we got all updates with the patch 1.5 for stock GalCiv 2 ?

The AI has constantly been tweaked for each expansion, so, no, with patch 1.5 you don't have the latest, best AI for GC2.

2.0 might port some of the AI patches back from TA to DL and DA, though.

Excellent. Then I can look forward to new competition in the expansions. I am about the order the 2 expansions very soon.

AI has been tweaked in each expansion and in most (if not all) updates. However, I am not certain whether the AI is best in the latest expansion. The Twilight of Arnor introduced a lot of new elements and AI is not very good in taking some of them into account.

Im running the latest version of ToA, and there are a Lot of "improvements" made to the AI and the game in general.  The biggest difference between DL and DA and ToA is the introduction of unique race tech trees in ToA.  They are a lot of fun, and allow you to play a lot of different ways and introduce a lot of variety to the game.  HOWEVER, the AI still does NOT A) Build planets correctly or effeciently; and B) Protect transports and make coordinated, well executed attacks.

***If a human player were to play like the AI, it would never win a game.  ***

If you like this game, I'd definately get the expansions for added replayability and variety.  Its a good game, just not great, yet :P

Well, I´ve now bought the two expansions. I also read that is mandatory if you want to get hold of GalCiv 2 patch 2.0 which will arrive in a few weeks (Beta).
