So I just installed Twilight of the Arnor, started a game, and found that my buildings (specifically, Iconian barter stations) won't update automatically to merchant emporiums. Is there some option that I haven't toggled, or what? Sorry if the answer is extremely obvious, I'm just at a loss.
The game default is to auto-upgrade, so if you've left the Options alone, it should still be enabled.
I vaguely recall seeing this problem with Iconians during the beta, but I haven't played them in quite a while. Perhaps you've found a bug. The Iconian tree as Galactopedia displays it really looks like the auto-upgrade should happen.
Check the planet screen and then click "Details" button. Make sure the setting under 'automatically update building' is on.
Actually, it's a bug in XML files that Barter stations don't upgrade to Merchant Emporiums.
