ToA - Graphics Help Needed

Hi All;

I have recently come into posession of a new computer. I have re-installed Gal Civ all the way up to ToA and everything was fine. I have set the graphics settings up to the maximum, with a resolution of 1920x1200 (my monitors native resolution). However, I find that when I go onto the strategic map, I cannot actually view the Ships, Planets, Asteroids etc, they just appear as the icons.

Is this to do with my resolution? I do not think it is, as I have changed the resolution, and still cannot get down "low" enough to see the ships in all their rendered glory.

Any Help would be much appreciated?

Thanks.

Simple case of "one of these things is not like the other" :)

The tactical zoom level slider in the video options controls what zoom level the map switches between models and icons. Turn it back down somewhere middling instead of all the way up, and you'll have models back at near zoom. All the way down, and they'll always show regardless of zoom.

If it makes it easier in the game you can press the number buttons starting with '1' and ending with '6' ( i believe) to change the display on the screen. i tend to stick to '3' as it gives the best rendition of the ship s in the game. Hope we helped a bit. :thumbsup:

I thought it might be one of those settings... as I never changed them when I had my old computer... although that was mostly to make sure my computer did not die on my unexpectedly.

Anyway, thanks for the advice!
