Tech tree crashing

i know i already...sort of posted about this but i fealt that it belonged in the Bug reports section

whenever i try to make a custom tech tree with the twilight editor and then try to use it in a game, the game crashes i save it in the right folder and evrything i select the tech tree (with a custom race) then do all that junk and the game loads but at the point where it should show me the starting mesage... the game, instead suddenly (and suprisingly quickly) crashes, no error message, just its there then it isnt. ive even tried just placing an existing tech tree (minor race) under a new name and it still happens plz help thx
