Possible to change own or AI color after game start?

Unfortunatly I chose the same color that now a computer also uses, which is very confusing on the map and in statistics. Do I need to start a new game or can I change my or the computer's color later on somehow? Thx!

I posted the same question a few months ago.

Unfortunately the answer is...no. Once the game starts you are stuck with the colors.

haha I've done this. More than once. I now try to pick colors that are distinguishable from every race. It's kinda not that easy to find one that I like using though. I use dark green personally.

It's probably possible by editing the saved game file. But I don't know of anyone that knows the exact location (values) for the hex edit.

Editing tile bonus' is fairly easy. That was found long ago, at least for DL.
Race color is probably a lot more difficult.

Yeah I've found this a huge problem myself. I spent an hour or so one day changing the colours of every team in order to get rid of all clashes. I was moderately succesful I guess, I almost wish there was an optional coloured line to divide the teams on the mini map.

Thx for all replies! Now this is really an issue for 2.0.... ;-) If anybody knows how to change the save file, please post.

Unless you use random AI races, you can edit the "Appearence" of all the races before you start the game by using the "EDIT" button on the race selection window. Once you finish doing this, the game will automatically save the the race file to "My Game" directory and will use that as the default for that race. The minor race colors will be the only unknown factor.

I made a post on this same subject, for the same reason, like a year ago. Definitely hope theres a 2.0 option for "on the fly" color adjustments.
