Worth getting TA?

In my opinion, it's worth it for the different race tech trees alone. When you play as each different race, and find strange tech trees that force you to change (or at least fine tune) your strategy, it really increases the replayability value.

The racial tech trees are awesome. Terror stars are just a rather useless gimmick IMO. Managing your economy and planets has been emphasized by raising maintenance cost of buildings.

I think GalCiv2 is a much better game with TA.

TA is what GalCiv2 should have been from the very beginning.

Once you go ToA.....you won't go back!

I've played GC from the beginning, TA is the proper last chapter..the new rendered UI is great, it's fast too.  I just wish the AI was more 'human'. But the ship building is layers and layers of lego-building fun.

definately for the multitude of changes which overall make the game more complex and more fun, just dont get your hopes up for the new invasion screen, sure Stardock were slightly sarcastic in their description of this new feature but that still doesn't make up for the fact that its a turd in new clothes

Yes, it's worth it. I've never quite understood how people could play games like Civ or GalCiv without the latest expansions - playing either without is like playing an incomplete (or lesser) game.

Probably the same way they played it before the expansion came out.

Yep. For me, my first experience and "love" for the GalCiv world was Dread Lords. I still play it regularly as well as both expansions. One of the great things about Stardocks expansions in addition to all the new content is their way of altering the gameplay from one version to the next. This essentially allows different gaming experiences for each, thus making all three worth a bit of their own time.

i realy injoy playing the game and would like to know how to add mods to inhance the game more i have down loaded a few mods onto my computer in the zip folders but thahs is far as i am able to go please help thanks
