The Burden of Extra Planets

Hi guys-looking for some advice here. Was pootling along happily in a massive galazy with only 5 colonies and have already beaten off a concerted attempt to anihilate me by the Yor.

My economy is fragile to say the least but still in the black and growing when I suddenly find myself in posession of 11 new worlds and a number of Capitol Ships ceded me by my Allies the Altarians

I am not at war with anyone and these new colonies are on the other side of the Galaxy but do deliver me some 100billion new citizens etc

The problem is my economy for some reason is now in serious deficit (500Bc/turn)!!  Which I cannot sustain

Any ideas anyone?

This may be a start. Those ships have maintenance costs, so depending on the complexity of them and the number of them, you may be hurting there.

The other thing to note, those new planets may be upgrading buildings right now. If a planet isn't currently having a military or social production going on, all the money that would have been spent on it goes into the economy instead. However, start building something and the running costs soar.

Ahh that may be it Loup-the new ships appear to not be the problem: all the money is in the planets

As you say I will have a look at what is being built on those planets etc. I did just think to myself b4 u replied 'have a look at what infrastructure those planets have' thats probably where the answer lies

Is this a default setting when a planet 'flips'? It seems to happen every time a planet flips to my side.
