I may not be godly like you, Neilo, Motti, or the other dominators (even including some of those strange cat folks ), but I'm pretty damn good at this.
My answer was partially in jest, but it seemed to be the answer you were pressing for.
In fact given the following response it seems that was the answer that you needed to hear to motivate you.
I guess I need to just start up a huge all abundant and start kicking ass and see where it takes me.
Ah... That's *exactly* the attitude I'm looking for.
You don't know how far you can go unless you try.
This is all part of the point I was trying to make with Vogar and now with you.
In an ideal scoring situation the score correlates to precisely what makes one player better than another. As you point out, all activitey that generates score is not always necessary to beat the AI. However I still maintain that there is skill evidenced by being able to do these things sooner and better than other players even if they aren't needed to beat the AI.
The thing is if you play the metaverse your real competition isn't the AI, your real competition is me and everyone else that plays the metaverse and takes it at all seriously.
It's not necessarily doing all the extraneous stuff that makes you better, it's doing *everything* possible to continually get better that makes you better.
In the end if you know to build a military SB array and can do so sooner and faster than others can and can do the myriad other things sooner, faster, better then you will score better than they will.
The tricks and various techniques get known and shared and in the end everyone plays on a level playing field. So you have to do some "extraneous stuff" that might be marginally game related so that your scores will compete with those of your peers. So what? Life is actually not all that different. If you believe that success in your career is solely dependent on your professional performance then you're probably going to be in for a shock sooner or later. There's all sorts of "extraneous stuff" in life that you have to succeed at before you can reach your true goals.
It's a game within a game within a game. Yeah, there's extraneous stuff that you have to do. Big deal. Come play with us anyway, it's fun.
