Freight question

Im confused about trade route profits -

will equipping a freight with faster engines give a larger return on the route profits? I ask because manual says the further away the more profit - but a slower engine with remain further away for longer?

And do longer routes equate to more profit?

if i have a central trade hub planet will adding economic buildings to it increase the revenue from trade or does they just affect tax?

I can't field the last one, but I got np with the other two.

Equipping engines will get your original freighter there faster, however it'll turn into a mini-freighter once it gets there and they only move at 1 parsec a week, no matter what.

Your second question is directly linked to the comment in the manual. The further away the destination planet is from the planet you made the freighter on it'll make more money. Also, as the freighter progresses thru it's trip it bring in more and more, thus sending it thru a warzone in which somebody hates either you or your trading partner will yield less income for that route since that freighter will get picked off quite often.

End of quote

Econ buildings only affect taxes. If you want to boost trade, build economic starbases over the freighter's routes.
