Performance settings

Slow game

Hi, when I started original galciv2 or the Dark Avatar, it worked smoothly, but Twilight was running very slowly when a ship was on screen. I tried to disable everything in the performance settings, but it was even worst. After some time I figured out, that the only way when the game runs smoothly is when I have "Allow mixed vertex processing mode" ON and "Use enhanced ship rendering" OFF. These features aren't documented in the manual and aren't set how I described by default. My system is notebook with dual core 1.7 GHz, 2.5GB RAM and Intel GMA965 integrated graphics

These settings aren't defaulted because they are specific to your chipset.

Thanks for posting, though. I'm sure any users of the Intel integrated chipset that are having this problem will be glad to know that there is a solution.

Yep, some older chipsets don't properly handle the enhanced ship rendering engine, which is why it's optional. It's not linked with the detail settings as it's a troubleshooting option rather than a detail setting.
