What's the point of advanced governments?

What's the point of advanced governments?

I don't get it.  I'm the war party, been that way all game.

Own 80% of the galaxy, 71% of the influence, tops in everything except production.

90% of the population loves us.

Why would switching to another government help?  Their all under my control, bwahaha.

The point is that we all share the love of the same game and that most people are generally only trying to be helpful.

People can obviously get off on the wrong foot and when that happens it's usually the result of a misunderstanding. Everyone knows that it's best in these cases to take a step back and cool down before replying but we're all human and it's very easy to go down the wrong path shooting from the hip.

That's mainly what happened here in my opinion and once this is understood I look at it as no harm, no foul. :)

One of the beautiful things about GC2, IMO, is that there are many ways to play and win! Play the way that fits your style. If you like to fight, play domination. If you are sneaky (diplomacy = the art of making peace while looking for a rock to knock out your opponent) then play diplomatically. If you a marketing genius, play economic. Etc... Personally, I like to mix it up and change the approach every once in a while.

Look at the benefits of changing governments. If it fits your strategy and your style, then do it.

That's how I did mine. Diplomacy. I made friends with everyone, then when people attacked, I stayed out if it long enough to grow powerful.
