help toxic invasion first mission campaign
that's frustrating

Hi boys,
I annot finish the first mission of the ToA campaign. I just set tough as difficulty and still I cannot survive 1 hour of game.
Korath and Dreadlords have better tech and I can understand that but what pisses me off is the spore ship. They invade my planets with no problems. I made a fleet of small fast ships to inercept the spores but since the Korath have so many of them it gets more and more difficult.No matter what I do, my population is at the max but my planets get invaded with no resistance.
What's the strategy?
I finished the Gold edition campaign at more difficulty levels with no problem and now I am getting really fristrated.
