Assuming you played DL and/or DA, the templates that you use to see (Phoenix, Hammer, etc) no longer exist in that capacity. Via Auto Design, the computer will look at your techs and make the best ship with each size from them. You can set focus as to what weapon/defense types you want and so on.
Those old names will now be the stock name for these Auto Designed ships along with a M1, M2, etc at the end of them.
I've been fairly happy with some of the designs from the AI when I'm just working on mil rating fluff. I've needed to personally design a few ships though when I wanted to be picky about some things.
