My copy came in the mail recently... [Wrong Address... Again!]

It happened again. See the link about last time!

Once again, I used my brother's credit card to make a pre-order. This time it was for the Twilight of the Arnor, and once again it was mailed to him instead of me. Fortunaly, he remembered what happened last time so I recieved the package unopened. Although things turned out ok this time, this mailing error is getting old quick.

That was about 2 weeks ago. I managed to get my own credit card in that time. Hopefully this will avoid any such related problems in the future. I recently pre-ordered Demigod with it, and if this mailing problem shows up again, I'm going to be a bit irritated. :(

For security reasons and fraud prevention, companies like shipping to the card's address. I had that issue with Newegg. It appears to be annoying until you read a real fraud case and see how bad it can mess your credit up heh.

I think what he is referring to is that there is a "Bill to Address" (or a "Cardholder Address") and a "Ship to Address". When these differ, the Ship to Address should be the one to which the product is shipped. So while fraud is definately soemthing to be avoided, why would the "Ship to Address" field even be an option?

Divine Wrath, are you certain that you filled out the Ship to Address differently than the Cardholder address?

It would appear that the "Ship to Address" either does not appear when the order is sent/defaults back to the Cardholder Address/ or is ignored by the person shipping the order.

I am fairly certain. I keep screen shots and e-mails of my orders. Looking through them shows one screenshot that has a "billing to:" and "shiping to:" part to it. The only differences between them is our first names and e-mail address. As for my e-mail, it states that my brother bought me a gift (TA pre-order with CD).

If the only difference is the first names and email addresses then it would certainly seem that the "ship to" address got discombobulated (since it should read differently on your screenshot) or that perhaps in a bit of a rush the address was not differentiated when the order was placed.

I've had an issue with ordering before (digital download) but it turned out it was my own fault. Even if it wasn't, the guys at Stardock are good people and get the benefit of the doubt in my book.

True that, they seem like a great bunch, and make top-notch titles.

That said, I would like to add that my copy of TotA arrived yesterday with the cost indicated on the packet as $49.95. In the UK importing things from outside the EU incurs VAT and Duty if the value of the item is over £18 (~$36). If the package had correctly been labelled as $24.95 I wouldn't have been stung for £12.50 (~$25)! Please ensure the guys shipping stuff out know what it's worth!
