What is the secret to creating maps that don't crash on loading?

This is really starting to get annoying, is there a tutorial for creating maps somewhere? I mean seriously I have no clue why it works sometimes and others just crashes nonstop on loading.

Yes, I have the same question.

I find it somewhat surprising that the editors, which are part of the official game now, seem to come with no instructions whatsoever. Half of the parameters you can change around are absolutely not self-explanatory. The real added-value of an editor should be that it lets any player customize the game - not just a super-modder with too much time on their hands in the real world. ;)

I was also wondering if it is not possible to include several custom races in edited maps and scenarios? Otherwise it's a bit like "changing everything except what really matters" ... Did I miss this option in the editors ...? Or would it be difficult to implement?
