Creating custom AI ships

I have built my own Custom Civs (12 to be exact) have portraits I drew for them and logos. I would like to build a few 'core' ships for them (i.e. a flagship, scout, destroyer, battlestip, Supership) so that each race would have a few unique ships to use as well as whatever the AI builds itself.

What would be the best way of doing this? I do not want to play 12 games with different races so that I can build a few ships for them. Is there some way to bypass that and just build ships and save them for the custom reces to use in future games?

Yes... and there are a number of threads here (flagged up above even) which indicates how. Although, you may try searching for the terms "Ship styles", "Fleet", etc.
It may also be a good idea to grab a few files in the library and load these already modded assets to gain important knowledge about some methods.
A little patience or 3D_Expertise with the shipyard wouldn't hurt either.

I know how to build ships and how to place them under thier respected Race in the game editor, that is no problem. What I DO want to know is how can I get in game (ship Editor) and actually have ALL weapons and upgrades available for me to build the ships at one time without having to play through the tech trees for each race until those upgrades are available.

Kind of like using a nice ship editor that doesn't exist. Is there a way to cheat an editor in game?

If you play the 'Battle of the Gods' scenario you start with all techs researched. Not sure if it works with TA's custom trees though.

I cheat for all Tech researched (Ctrl&Shift&R when in cheat mode), make them instantly in shipyard and save them as template too.
Then open with editor of your choise

Well, i may have mis-read you... but as MrKorx just clearly spelled it out for you - i won't insist on *that* trick either.
And yet, you were saying, EVERY races - right, Jonnan?

Duh -- *That* would be a mathematical issue which i do not need to calculate for you, do i?

My apologies - I was referring to Mr. Korx cheat trick (I don't typically explore "Cheat Mode" options) and quoted the wrong post.

But yes, Even in my own games, Ctrl Shift R is a rather useful option for setting up basic templates in - I have a tendency to *want* to keep a consistent design and naming style, then failing to keep it quite consistent.

So anything that helps me fight the OCD compulsion to redesign items I already have because I got the name wrong is a good thing - {G}.
