Is there a program to make ship templates without having to play thru the game? It would be nice to have a program that would let you make templates of your ship style with all hull sizes (Tiny thru Huge) without having to play the game to that point.

 

Your templates don't have weapons or defenses on them so that doesn't factor into it. The miniaturization doesn’t factor into template so that’s irreverent. All I want to do is get some designs to use in the game when I’m playing, rather then during a game when there’s a lot going on. Especially in the late game when things start heating up!!!

No, but you can start a new game using the battle of the gods scenario, and select the ship style for the terrans that you want to make templates for. It hasn't been updated for TA, but it does still give all the hull techs so you can use it for making templates.

Will one ever be made? Making ships is my favorie feature. I find myself hurrying to create a ship so I can get back to the game only to find the ship I created looks like a monkey with crayons drew the blueprints.

Did you know that the Battle of the Gods scenario doesn't actually unlock SMALL hulls?

I find it easier just to start a game with the "cheat" switch and give myself all techs (CTRL+SHIFT+R)

You just need to create a new shortcut desktop icon with this target text line...
(Insert your game files path here)\GC2DarkAvatar.exe cheat

I love it. Never knew about the cheat. I did what Kryo suggested before, but the cheat seems easier.

The cheat works fine. Just start up a new game, hit the keys and your off to the design room!!!
