DA to ToA ship conversion?

Is there any tool or any way that allow you to convert ship from DA or GC2 to ToA? I downloaded some really cool ships that was made in DA and want to use it in ToA but just can't. :((

Unfortunately as many ship parts had their graphics updated, many designs will look strange when imported directly. One user did report that they were able to copy all of the old ship parts over and rename them so they didn't conflict with the new ones, but it's a lot of manual work.

So can you tell me how to import the ships, kryo? I want to give it a try. May be some still can be used after import.

Well, to move them alone is just a matter of copying the files from the ship and template folders under My documents\My games\GC2DarkAvatar over to the corresponding GC2TwilightArnor folders.

Well, that doesn't work. I did that before but the ships just don't show up in the game. I think it's because the .shipclass files in DA and GC2 now become .xml file.

Is there any other way?

Shipclass files haven't been used since DL 1.1--IIRC they were switched to XML in 1.2 and have been that way since, so if you still have some of those laying about, they're ancient DL designs, not even from DA.

Considering that you haven't even been able to use them since that point unless you've been using a really old version of the game, I don't expect you'll miss them that much. About the only way to recover such designs is to use them in a 1.1 game, then try to load that save in 1.2. *If* it works, you can then upgrade and resave them to get them in the new format.

Yeah, I also intended to do that, but since I'm having ToA now, those ships might have to wait for some time. :D
