how can you defeat the peacekeepers?

Was doing great, on my way to taking over a large galaxy, some factions were waring. Then this message comes on re: some "peacemakers".

I got everyone at peace yet these unbeatable fleets still continued to destroy everything, all my starbases, ships, freighters etc... Then another faction just started taking the hell over everything?

Any idea what I was supposed to do to either stop them or deal with them?

There's not much that can be done until you can research the techs needed to build ships that are strong enough to defeat them.

Alternatively, if you have a saved game prior to their arrival, you can start over again.

Appropriate that some one named Borg answer how to deal with a robotic threat that threatens the entire galaxy.
