Change AI mid game?

Hello everyone, just a quick question:  Is it possible to change the AI in the middle of a game? If it is too easy, then Later in the game I just destroy them.  But if i try to make them harder, then I get my but kicked early on. 

I kinda want an easy AI when Im first starting out, and then for them to get more aggressive/harder later on in the game after ive built up my economy. 

Is there any way to do this?

IMO not. If you want harder AI, you better learn to colonize more effectively. At least that's what we had to do.

or cheat in the early section of the game.
though i think galciv is much better to play without cheats.

I don't know how to make the cheats work, i learned the hard way and it was a lot funner.
