Play after win?

Still learning my way around and having a good time, but I can't find a way to continue playing a game after a win (or loss).  Is this possible?

Sadly, no.

You can, however, disable all victory conditions except the military one.

Can you disable victory conditions "In Game"? The reason I ask is that, since Twilight, I always end up having to chase down the Assension crystals once one or more races goes and decides to assend. It isn't a big deal, but I am mid game at the moment and don't want to restart again just yet.

And turn off surrenders, if you want to beat them down to 1 planet, but still keep playing. ;)

Eradicate them... Or flip their planets, then invade the remaining worlds.
Or go for any other victory. I've even managed tech victories beating an ascending race to the finish, even with the "slowed down research" bug.

That or park 8 tiny hull no weapons ships around an unclaimed crystal so that the AI can't send a ship through to take it. That way you don't get the relations hit and nobody gains points from that crystal.

LOL. That is the plan. However, in the game I am playing, the Torians have already started "Collecting" crystals and the clock is counting. I still have some 600 turns, but I don't want to be pushed to attack before i am ready. And I don't particularly want to babysit the crystals to ensure that others don't get them.

If you aren't ready in 600 turns, you'll never be ready. 600 Turns take forever...

If you guys played on like tough or crippling as the Korath. It became a war of attrition, and the game took 10 game years and it was still not finish.
