Must have two colony modules?

Didn't find a smiliar post. Anyway, playing TOA I upgraded the default Terran colonizer with new engines and removed one of the two colony modules. New ships when launched are not asked to select how many colonists to carry, and when arriving at planet will say "no colony module" present.

Even the default colonizer will carry max of 250 colonists. Aren't the modules each capable of carrying 250? And it's got two clearly.

Maybe due to attrition half die enroute...

I believe your problem is that you removed the real colony module. The base ship appears to have two, but one is just jewelry. You probably removed the real one, but left the fake one.

One colony module will care 250 colonists in TA.

Thanks for the info but if it's jewelry then it's showing up under functional components list and takes up actual hull space.

Are both of them in components and take up the same space?

I think the way to go forward to remove both of them a place one of your own :P Always works when you do the job yourself, hehe.

It's a result of the fact that the core designs are not directly linked to the actual components on them. If you remove *either* colony module, it'll take the real one first.
