Detail Levels

I've obviously seen the screenshots of GalCiv2:Dreadlords and noticed that ships are visible on the main map screen. All I get are Icons for ships and fleets. Is ther a setting that I need to adjust to be able to actually see the ship graphic on the map?

In options under interface there is a slider for tactical zoom level. The higher you put it, the farther you can zoom out before it switches to icons/tactical.

That didn't seem to alter the display of icons on the map at all. I've moved it to the max(100), is there anything else that might affect how things are displayed?

Try this first;
Shortcuts 1,2,3,4 or 5... and tell us what happens.
Otherwise your config file may be screwed up, somehow.

Try putting it lower, not higher.

Thanks all. Kyro your suggestion worked...I apparently have a narrow window on that setting that works..I had to fiddle around with it and finally got it to display at a setting of 59..strange.
