Surrender to the Korath

I was playing a game recently (Large map, 9 civs) in which the Korath were doing particularly well.  After a certain point, several other races surrendered to them in sequence, leaving the Korath with near total dominance.

All well and good, but very puzzling.  Leader after leader would send a diplomatic message, roughly: "We're losing, so we've decided to surrender to the Korath, we hope they'll be merciful."

But... they have the stated public aim of wiping out all other species, and the track record to prove it!  Noone in their right minds would surrender to the Korath, surely, under any circumstances?

I would suggest that any race with the Super Annihilator special ability be automatically barred from accepting the surrenders of other races.

Same could be said about those under the Super Isolationist flag...as they wouldn't want people to flock to them, they wish to be alone.

I'll fight hard and force them to spore me to death.

Let's be serious everybody I care about - which is to say, my citizens - gets killed in the planetary invasions. Why should I care what the non-fighting non-productive non-citizens have to deal with after my empire falls, probably because of having to drag their dead weight around everywhere I go?

The first step in implementing the techniques discussed in the Xeno Slavery tech description is to start with only those too unmotivated to work or fight for the previous world order which you have recently displaced.

As a possibly corrupt evil leader they could be striking a deal for themselves. "A fast ship and cash and you can have the rest of my empire, just let me dissappear" :)

If u surrender, odds are you will die a much slower since they can do anything they want, compared to when they are forced to fight someone armed
