The eternal statistics bug

As the title implies, this one has been around since before Dark Avatar and still not fixed as of TA 1.91. I'll give it another Go to describe it as best I am able.

In every long game I have played so far, at a certain point in time (around 22 years was the latest occurrence, I suspect breaking point is 1024 turns) the statistic graphs become bugged. What happens is that from this point on, each time the game is reloaded from a save game, all statistic curves get compressed to half their previous width. To their right, the game inserts a height zero line of equal length, and to the right of that, the new portion of the statistic curve (the one after the reload) is inserted. This has the effect that after several reloads, the main part of the statistic curves are compressed to 1/8, 1/16, etc width and thus basically no longer recognizable.

Could please someone look into this bug? It has been bugging me for a long time now.

If anyone else has experienced this phenomenon, please bump the thread. I can't possibly be the only person to ever have played a game for longer than 20 years.

Never played 22 years; id come up with an idea to end game way before that time.

Well, I don't play GalCiv to win, but just for the fun of it (much like playing SimCity), and I never submitted anything to the metaverse either. I just don't want my games to end, and it shouldn't be a problem to play such long games.

I suspect not even Mumbles Gigantic games last that long. ;)

You should zip up your savegame and mail it together with the description to gc2bugs. That way, the developers have a test game without having to wait fo 1024+ turns for this bug.
