Quick DA/TA Basics Comparison

I was wondering whether someone could outline the basic gameplay differences between DA and TA for a player ready to plunge into a longer game (Immense/Tough, as Iconians).  Of course, we're all familiar with the new features, but I'm looking for a simple, practical comparison in economy, maintenance, war, population, and game phases (the core mechanics).

I write this because I've seen a number of posts discussing the impacts of these updates, but haven't seen a detailed breakdown yet, aside from tech-tree charts (which are a little more obvious).
