Quick Question: What does the Allow Auto Turns option do?

I haven't been able to find an answer to that doing a cursory search.  If anyone that knows could throw up a quick description I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Doesn't it keep on going through turns until something exciting happens? Even if it's a 'building complete' message it'll stop I think.

I believe it ends your turn when the turn button would usually glow green instead of waiting for you to click it.

Ah, ok. Not what I imagined, I'm glad I asked.. Thanks for the info. :)

I have always assumed that it worked as Loupdinour says it does. The turns will keep clicking over until either a tech is researched, a social improvement is completed, a ship reaches it's destination, or something of interest is completed by another race. (GNN)

I don't know, though. In all honesty, I have never played with this option on. I was always worried that I would forget something or other, and I would lose a half a dozen turns before I realized it.

Anyone out there have a definitive answer?

Actually, it does both. If you have nothing of interest to do, the game will give you the green turn button to let you know there is nothing left for that turn. With the option enabled, it will not stop with the green highlight and wait for you to click. It will instead roll on to the next turn and again and again until there is reason to stop.
