Stops at 45% download

When i try to download Galactic Civ on my computer (disk) i get an error message at 45% download. I don't know the problem and the game preformed on the computer before but i removed it last fall and now i want to reinstall it.

Can you post the error log from Impulse? Click the help icon in the the top right and choose 'error log'. Maybe then we can tell what is going on.

I can't find the error log, and in case it matters i use Vista. And i don't believe my computer see it as an error since what it does is at 45% downloaded the thing is suddenly "not responding" and then it crashes to desktop.

Just click the blue button and choose 'view error log'. Curious if it logged anything. If so, please copy and paste it here. Thanks!

My apologies. I don't know how it is that I misunderstood your OP. Do you mean that you are trying to install from CD?

If the disc install is giving you issues, you can also simply download the entire game via SDC/Impulse if you've registered it and have decent internet. Otherwise, you might try installing in safe mode.

i tried coping the files on the disk to elsewhere on my computer and i got an error 0x007045D and it was caused by An I/O device error. The file it was coping at the time was the setup file.

Sounds like a bad disc, or more likely if the disc is clean, a bad drive. Do you have another computer handy to test the disc in?
