I was finally able to bust out ToA last night. Its been a little while since I've played gal civ 2 as I hung it up around DEC when ToA was being worked on. I've decided to choose one good, neutral, and evil civ to play and settledon Torian last night for my 'good' one.
I haven't patched since the initial 'final' download.
I haven't gotten too far, and have some questions about these guy and ToA in general ( I didn't play any of the beta's):
I believe i'm noticing the pop bonus's and super breeders is having a more dramatic effect on my influence then economy. Is an influence victory the more stream-lined approach with them?
is the morale boosting abilities in the civ custom screen a 'must' for this race.
is economy boosting still a 'must' for every race
is espionage a viable tool for success now (as in offesively applied espionage)?
My first game I dropped the race specific farm on a yellow bonus tile to test the effectiveness of the wellness pools. Starting with one I was geting maybe 2-4 more morale on the planet with each additional wellness pool. Does stacking them have diminished returns because it seems the +%25 bonus would equate to more then just a couple percentage points.
Is super breeders an early game advantage only? and if so is it considered one of the weakest super-ability?
My plan for civ-wide morale is %100 until I cannot anymore and 70 after that to try and take advantage of my superior population bonus's. Has this been a viable strategy?
When applicable (as in there being star systems to go around) I've been buying one colony ship and then buying the super-mine deal, temple thingy, and range bonus (if its a larger map) to start off with. Then relying on planet production the rest of the way. Am I going about that correct or should I make adjustments.
I can't remember the techs but I've decided to go for the initial morale bonus tech first, then pop bonus one, then playing it by ear the rest of the way (having a bit more bias for the wellness pools).
Finaly ToA question. Is creativity really this awesome? I can see this as being a 'must' if it is.
TIA
