Unseen Events

Was looking at the FAQ on the website and found 4 examples of random events.  I've seen number 4 happen but I've never seen the first 3.  Do they still happen?  Has anyone seen them.

1) A terrorist civilization comes into being and starts carrying out terrorist acts across the galaxy. You have to find who these guys are and conquer their planet.  (IS THIS THE PIRATE ONE?)

2) A religious faction is questing to open a dimensional gateway to bring back their "Death god" (a very nasty alien creature from another dimension). The player must find the religious faction's ship before it reaches the place it's going to activate their gateway or else you'll have to deal with the nasty alien creature.

3) A coup has occurred on "alien X"'s home world that is causing the moral alignment of the civilization to switch poles. (Aliens have a setting of behavior between good and evil that determines how they behave.) Such an event can completely alter the way a civilization behaves.

4) A minor race has found a Precursor Artifact that improves their racial abilities by 1% per turn. If left alone, eventually this minor race will conquer the galaxy. You must eliminate them before it's too late.

I've had #3 occur twice. Once with the Drengin, who became "good" and once with the Altarians, who became "evil". Didn't help either race, as I went on to genocide each race when their time came in the respective games.

If this relates to DA, then I experienced the #3 event or something very similar, causing a "good" leaning race to suddenly switch gears and go down the "evil" path.

Oddly enough though, after quite some time they never developed anything close to evil as far as I could tell. I guess the A.I. never researched Xeno Ethics or something like that.
Their relations didn't change at all towards me so far as I could detect, but like in Dax99's game, it didn't much matter at that point... it was all over but the crying for them.

I've seen 3 and 4. I've never seen 2, but I really, really want to. :D

Possibly fake. I haven't seen any indication that this game handles events of this kind. Then again, I play with minors off so I might have never seen anything like this. That and TA has been only recently been released

Could you check to see what game you are reading up for? I don't recall space monsters of any kind existing in GalCiv 2.
I heard they existed for GalCiv 1, but I haven't played the game so I don't know much exact details.

If it does exist though, I would like to know why I haven't seen it yet.

Could you provide a link so that I may check it out? I'm not sure if you are looking at another site or what.

After reading through this I would come to the conclusion that the information on the provided link is rather old and dated.

I've driven myself around plenty of times through the "dark alleys" of galciv2.com, and let me tell you, there are some places you want to keep your windows rolled up and your doors locked.

In other words: Many of the links, pathways within the galciv2.com site seem to contain incredibly old details/information about the game.

"Space Monsters" were in Galciv(1). I remember one tearing through my poor little worlds many years ago ;)

However they were discontinued with Galciv2. Sad? perhaps.

I say bring on the space monsters! I didnt play GalCiv1, but I did play MOO with it's Space Amoeba and Space Crystal. Also the comet that was going to hit your home planet and homestar that was going to go supernova. I'd like to see more events like this.

Well, there are the Terror Stars, which tend to cause those exciting supernova shows you are wishing for. Just don't buy the front seat tickets. I hear they are not as great a value as everyone says.
