SDC in a continuous loop?

I'm trying to archive my game through SDC.

SDC says downloading gc2.sdc and there's a progress bar.  It gets to 100% and starts over.  It's been doing this over and over.  Is there a trick to doing this?

I tried to search for information, but the forum just gives me a blank screen and says to wait 10 minutes.

I canceled it and restarted it and it looks like it's working. Please disregard.

Thanks. :)

Please don't disregard, it is doing this to me as well. I have closed SDC and restarted multiple times, and even reinstalled SDC. Every time it gets to 100% it starts over. I had uninstalled all GalCiv II components in order to start fresh, so I am trying to install the base GalCiv II right now. I am dead in the water...

If you are using Vista, right click SCcentral shortcut and Run as Administrator. Then uncheck the show prerelease versions and make sure the version displayed is 1.91 and download. It should work. Please post updates!

I installed GalCiv II from my CD. After that, I was successfully able to update to 1.5, and then install all the other modules, DA, and ToA from SDC. I was just unable to install the base GC II. Weird. Anyway, this episode highlights my distrust of distributing software this way. I still prefer good old fashioned optical disks.

Yes, but countless others have used it successfully. Maybe it was just something you did?

Anyway, good thing it now works. Have fun!

This happened to me with Sins of a solar empire.
Achieving it first than running seemed to stop this from happening.

It happened to me again after uninstalling and trying to do a clean reinstall from SDC. Like BSteel, I had to reinstall from my CDs and then SDC would let me update.

It seems that the initial install and perhaps the first attempt at archiving don't work. Related, perhaps?
