Two crashes, and one is preventing me from continuing the game

I'm playing the Tournament game (umm...something Hard Rock...the one where you fight against Arcean and Drengin).

First, I had a crash when I selected one the AI planets and clicked the spy button. I can't seem to repeat it now, but it was my first crash for this expansion. Sorry I can't provide more information.

Second, and this is a big problem. I'm pretty much done with the game. The AI just has one planet left. I was just screwing around and experimenting with bases and teching up various trees to see what changed.

When I click the turn button to end turn, it seems okay for a few seconds, then crashes to the desktop. It does this every single time. Since there is a delay while it's doing something before it crashes, I can't tell what is causing the problem.

I do have a lot of starbases and constructors all over the map, but it's just a medium map, so I can't imagine that could be a problem.

I don't mind if I have to abandon this one game, but this is a pretty serious bug if it's preventing me from continuing.

Edit: Some more info...  I didn't have a problem with the turn button until this current turn.  So all I can guess is that perhaps something I did this turn is causing the problem.  I fleeted a bunch of constructors and moved a couple waypoints around.  I also created a bunch of military bases.

Let me try uninstalling and making sure it's clean before you bother with trying to figure out my problem. Perhaps it is as simple as an obsolete file.

I'll post an update.

If you updated the program in the middle of a game it could cause these types of problems.

No, I started the game after I downloaded the release version.

Oh well. Just spent some odd hours uninstalling, then downloading the entire GC2 package, just to make sure that something else wasn't messed up. I installed it to a different drive and restarted the system.

I still crash in that game when I end the turn. I tried deleting all the constructors and bases, as well as waypoints, but no luck. I have no idea what happened.

I started another game, so hopefully this one will work without a glitch.

Please install 'SmartException' from the free stuff section in Stardock Central. Make sure that SE is running and start your game as normal. If the game crashes it will generate an exception report that can be emailed to [email protected].

Include in/attached to the email:
+ A description of what you were doing at the time.
+ How to reproduce the crash (if possible).
+ A zipped save (if applicable).
+ The appropriate debug.err file.

The devs cannot help if you do not provide these details!

Thanks, kryo...that was exactly what i was hoping you would post in this thread. I've never had problems with crashes before, so I couldn't remember what that ap was called.

\Suddenly having crashes on both my laptop and desktop over the weekend. Never had any problems before.
