Caris post sounded more like the final version will be available later today. Are you sure you're downloading the release and not the beta? ;)

To be honest I am not sure and I hope I did not start a false alarm I went with how a few days ago it said a note of some sort about the beta, but this time it started to download like the other games I have bought

Erm, yeah, it's not up yet, so that's kinda hard to do :p

LOL that got people going though. Much respect for the wind up :(

I have to say that I am sorry as it got through with the download and the folder was there with one file in it.Honestly the way it started and took about twenty minutes and then gave me a note that it was sucessfully installed I was fooled.
Did not mean to start a mean or nasty prank

umm.. i am downloading something called gc2_Twilight.sdc and the version sais "0.98c[b].001"

is this the final version or no ? if its a beta version, how can i lateron identify the final version ?
The [b] and the fact that the version number is less than 1.0 indicates a beta.
It's the beta version.

The release version, first of all will have today's date, and the available version will start with 1. So it should look like something 1.xxxx. Hope it helps. Oh, and there will probably be announcement in these pages and a general racket you can probably hear from home :P

EDIT: CommanderGizmo got me to it :)

Hhm...now iam downloading a Version 0.99[rc].016

Is this the final?
Its at least another Version than the Version half an hour ago.

No, the final version will be 1.9. Anything less than 1.0 is beta.
Version 1.9 is now available in Impulse. Yay!

Can we use out beta key with this?

Should I delete 0.99[rc].016? Why is it available on Stardock?
And 1.9 is in SDC too. And yes, you should uninstall any beta that you've downloaded.

RC is "release candidate" so basically it should be the same as release version anyway (unless they find more bugs of course :))

Well, it has today's date. It wasn't the [b] I downloaded earlier (lol, yea. I just purchased the Ultimate pack =D )

But, it isn't a 1.xx release. It is still 0.xx , and kryo mentioned this is still Beta.

I don't think this is the same as the release version =P

Of course, I could be wrong.

Make sure you deselect "Show pre-release versions" at the bottom of SDC! This had me stumped for a few minutes ;)

Bingo.

That did it.

Once you deselect pre-release versions, it does infact remove the 0.99[rc] version =)

Thank you very much Film!

hurray!

I was downloading 0.99[rc].016 and then I un-checked the pre-release version box in Stardock and it switched to 1.90.018 and continued to download.....so is this OK or should I just uninstall all TA files again and start over?

TBH, It happened to me too. And I'm a firm believer in a fresh clean install.

I'm going to uninstall and reinstall as well. Having some files come from one version, and the rest coming from another kind of makes me wary heh.

To each his own though =)

I think once it's done I'll also just uninstall and install clean just to be safe.

Yep, it went relatively quick for me. I uninstalled and reinstalled already. An extra 15 mins for peace of mind = priceless.
