Im getting some dodgy scores in the netaverse :notsure:

I wonder if its just me or if its happening to everone else?

I got scores like 2500 but metaverse is showing 300?

My scores still aren't showing up.

Hello, hard working keeper of the Metaverse. I have one minor problem and then a small issue.

The minor problem: I submitted a game a few days ago that had a lot of trouble getting posted. It took three tries. It is a medium challenging alliance victory. But instead of being dated June 3, the day I submitted it, it is dated May 7. I am happy it posted at all, but it is now totally out of sequence. The game data itself is correct, it is just that the date is all wrong. Can you please correct the date?

The gripe: There is no way to determine whether we are getting anything right on Metaverse submissions until we check out the results later. How long am I supposed to wait after hitting submit before it goes back to the main menu? 2 minutes, 3 minutes, longer? A lot of times the program just seems to idle until I hit submit again after a few minutes. A few times it actually went to the main menu by itself after a minute or a minute and a half. Both cases have resulted in misfires (i.e. games not posting). Some sort of error check that tells us whether the game went through or not would be most helpful. Maybe even a progress meter that gives messages like "Contacting server, transmitting data, getting confirmation." Right now, submitting games is more like Russian Roulette in my experience. It is routinely taking two to three tries to get something through, and the lack of feedback on the program's part during the submission process is not helping.

None of my submissions are showing up either....an no error message that there was a problem with the end game upload....

Looks like scores with 1.044 are either too high (I believe this was corrected shortly after the first patch on Friday), or too low.

My last 2 scores on Tiny/Crippling account for 250-290 each, while the submition screen showed 1600-2000 (which seems normal with what it used to be in version 1.04).

Hello all. How do I verify that the name I am submitting under is the same as my account, including email address. I had registered on this site before I bought the game, but had to reregister under a different email when I did buy it because the registration wouldn't accept my old galciv password. So far I've tried to post at least five games with no success. The site does show my team, but doesn't show my name anywhere other than the top right hand corner of the window next to the logoff. Is there an area I could access my profile to update it? Any help would be appreciated.

You can do this by going to http://www.wincustomize.com which is another Stardock website. Once you log in there, just go to Edit Account and you can check on and update your email address, password, etc. You can also add extra information about yourself that will show up in your profile here, if you like.

Submitted score at 11PM 6-8-2003. Still not showing up. When are the scores updated?

Scores should go in immediately. Make sure to use the same username you registered under and if all else fails try to resubmit.

Accidently used old registered name first submission, but submitted 2 more times with new username.

I have tried to submit a couple of games without success. I am not sure why. Is it sensitive that the Alias you specify on the submission screen in the game must match a registered user or is it tied to the email address?

I may have screwed myself up royally somehow by using two different email addresses. Can someone help?

Well I do not think I have two different email addresses. At least not that are tied to the game. I tried again using the email address and my name sgsmitty64 but it is not appearing. I sort of wish it would tell you successful or not.

Ok for those who don't know how to verify their username for metaverse...

this is what you should do.

1. Click on metaverse and on the top theres a link to register...click on that.

2. You will be brought to a screen where it tells you to enter your email address and the sn you recieved when you purchased the game. Once you have registered...

3. Start a game or reload the last save game and complete the game. At the end of the game, it will ask you to enter a nick name (so select one) than your email address [email protected] and than click submit.

4. Once thats the end and theres no error. Goto metaverse and do a search for the nick you used to submit. Your nick should appear.

5. If you used the same email address...than clicking on your nick should bring up your scores...

Will, thats how i got mine to work...

Feel free to add any steps you think i might have missed or theres mistake in my step...

Shakaar- I already have 1 game scored but it will not accept my 2nd one.

Don't know whats going on...now i got -500 for my last game...

I've submitted one game twice now, and it has not shown up either time. I scored 16000 points (wrong, somehow, way too high). My submissions were working correctly up until the most recent two versions 1.04.059, and 1.04a.062. Neither of the two submissions are working, and I'm sure my alias is correct. What could be the problem!?

Yes, it clearly does not work very well. I have tried several times to submit scores from two of my games and none have appeared. I have no way of knowing if the submissions are accepted or not. It would be nice that if there was a problem it would tell you realtime or at least send a email or something..... Great game but the metaverse concept, while being a good idea, seems to have some issues.

um. Me is biggest newb but have querrie? I've installed the latest bous pack and the patch that goes with it. When I get to the end of the game the e-mail to which the score is to be sent is wrong. I* have Down loaded the Civilizations software too/ regitsered etc etc. Also sometimes at the end of the game the score doesn't even come up? This made me cross becauses I actually won a game the other day on Sub-normal medium (which is my best victory so far). Thankyou all for any advice or comment . . . ps great game but this sight here is really slow andkeeps flickering, anybody finding that? I have cable so I'm pretty sure its now me . . . I hope.

Cotal, you've gotta be connected to the internet for the dialogue to work. If you weren't but want to try it again, just load the last autosave.

Make sure the email address you give is the same that you registered your Galciv.com account with. The alias it asks for is the username you chose for Metaverse scoring placement. I don't know if you have to register with the Metaverse beforehand or not, clarification here? Also the score will appear under the Summary tab at the post-game screen and will appear as something like; (2310 Mpts) - just incase you may have missed it. About the flickering, I think Sigma 7 posted something about checking the refresh rate of your monitor. I do not understand how after submitting my score yesterday it was fine and now it says the same game is -2237? also just noticed under difficulty settings one of my games says "Anomalous" and I get no score for the game. Can anybody sort me out on how to fix it?

Nothing you can do from your side. Just have to be patient and wait for Stardock to re-compute the scores (which they will certainly do, considering how bogus the metaverse scores have been since the last patch).

I have a problem like Hunterose's.
Submitted a score few days ago, was +3000. Finished new game today and notice last game score changed to -3237. BTW, new game score +3000.

Sorry for the delay folks.  Been a bit  busy.  I will try to look at all the new postings tomorrow.

Just a word of thanks for all your hard work on clearing up the game submission problems to the Metaverse.

After submitting 9 games (2 lost, 6 you fixed for me, and the one I finally finished and submitted successfully last night!), I have come to the conclusion that either you finally got games to submit correctly or as in the case of the 6 games that you "fixed", there was a human error (mine) in the submission, or both.

Anyway, thanks again for working so hard to solve all the submission problems. Maybe soon, you'll actually have time to improve your Metaverse standing!!! LOL
