what does advanced planetary colonization give you?

Sorry, I spent 15 minutes searching stuff, but i can't find it.  I understand basic toxic planets let's you colonize it in the first place, but what does advanced do?  Thanks.

With the basic colonisation tech, you still have a 50% penalty. To fully utilise a planet, you need the corresponding Advanced Colonisation.

Hi!
With the basic colonisation tech, you still have a 50% penalty.
End of quote

Please note only the output of FACTORIES is penalized. Everything else (research, growth, taxes...) works as usual.

i thought these techs gave you 50% of the tiles for improvements that the class suggests, and advanced gave you the number based on class. at least thats what ive noticed

Newp. Each just gives a +50% production bonus to that planet (which starts off as a -100% production planet). Without either tech, you cannot colonize a planet like that. If you were seeing any tile# changes, that was probably due to teraforming techs.

Note, without either tech, you can still flip/buy/invade an extreme world though. Your production will be 0 though. Taxes/research/etc will be fine though as Iztok said.

Also note that even though you cannot build improvements because of zero production, you can buy them and get their benefits.
