consistent crashin

the first lockups started half way through the campaign mission "deception". the game now crashes when i try to load anything, whether saved or just restarting a mission. i followed the instructions for video card updates, virtual memory and video resolution without any change.

Well, the driver is 2 years old. An update will probably solve your problem.

ok the 2 year old one was the most recent supported driver. now i am using a hacked one with the same result:

Finding drivers for a GeForce Go 6800 though is like pulling teeth. Nvidia only has the Go 7 series drivers on their site for example...

When you installed the hacked one, did you uninstall the old one first, restart the computer then installed the hacked one? Or did you just install the new drivers and restarted.

I never heard otherwise, I've always uninstall/restart/installed/restart. I may be making myself do things that are unneeded though.

ok i did an old school uninstall / install of my video drivers. no change with lockups though

Have you modded the game any, or only just updated it? If so, you might also try reinstalling the game itself.
