Who do you give a solar system to get techs?

Minor Race

I keep getting a event sequence telling me that a splinter group from a minor race has stolen a major races techs and I can  trade a solar system for these techs. But, for the life of me, I can't find how you'd make this deal and my game play is limited to tech research rather than the more fun aspects of mixing it the heat of battles!

Can anyone help me.

I don't think they want solar systems. They want planets.

So you'd just offer them planets in the trading window for their techs.

If they do want solar systems, then you'd just have to offer them all the hospitable planets in a solar system.

Hi!

This event doesn't work as was intended. Probably it's just a leftover from GC-1, where AIs valued planets significantly higher than they do now in GC-2.

Thank you for your replies.

Can I just clarify: do I offer the planets to the minor race who the splinter group come from or do the splinter group from the minor race appear on the on the diplomatic contact window?

I just got the event in my current game. I agree with Iztok. This must be a leftover event from an older version. I offered this minor race a bunch of different planets and it valued them just as poorly as the normal races. It just makes me want to kill this minor race right now, since I have plenty of cash and I don't need it any longer.

The minor races typically have a weak diplomacy ability and far weaker military, it probably is easier to trade for the new tech from that minor race though.
