Compiled list of helpful threads? Strategy FAQ?

In the short time I've been active on these forums, I've found a lot of really helpful and insightful posts.  Everyone is really friendly and more than willing to help.  Unfortunately, the information is all over the place.  All of the best threads I read were linked to me by someone else.

Is there such a thing as a compiled list of helpful threads/posts?

I'm sure many people have a bunch of bookmarks to great AAR's and strategy posts.  Unfortunately for someone new like me, it's been a bit frustrating.  I feel a bit silly creating a new post every time I have yet another question.  I'm sure some of the oldtimers feel a little annoyance seeing the same questions being asked over and over.

The wiki (galciv.wikia.com) is good for general information, but it's light on real strategy.  The strategy pages aren't detailed enough for a newer player to really understand what is going on.

Either a stickied post or perhaps more strategy advice transferred into the wiki would be really helpful.  For example, there is an AAR section in the wiki, but it's pretty much empty/outdated.

The trouble with those links is that they don't seem to mention Twilight of the Arnor (TA). I haven't played to much, yet. But, it sure seems like TA has totally changed all the old strategies that used to work. For instance, the main sliders (Military, Social, Research) seem to work very differently under TA than they did under DA (and DL). I haven't been able to find a TA strategy guide at all. Maybe there's a strategy guide for how to develop and test a strategy? :p

Well, TA has only been out for one day, and I think the beta forums (where one might expect strategy discussion about how the TA changes affect strategy) have gone the way of the dodo. Thus, it's pretty much natural that there's currently a dearth of strategy information about TA, sad as it is to say.

We'll just have to wait, hope, and maybe contribute our own works to help remedy the situation.

It's worth asking, though, if anybody happens to have archived any discussions on how to handle some of the more radically changed races. Or how to handle the various mechanical changes that affect every civilization.

Really? I havn't noticed a huge change in the sliders. I did notice a lot of balancing changes, and I love them! The game is much more fun and feels a great deal more solid IMO.

I don't have any hard number to back this up, but it SEEMS like the main sliders behave differently. If I set them to 100% military and then set a planet's individual production emphasis to something else (perhaps Research), it seems like TA puts much less production into the emphasized area than DA did (it's been a while since I played, so I could definitely be wrong). In order to keep a reasonable amount of production in that planetary emphasis area, I've had to keep the main sliders more balanced.

Oh! Ok, I see what you mean. Yes, they did adjust focus to be more wasteful so that players would be more inclined to actually use the buildings rather than go all factory or all lab or whatnot. The sliders themselves work the same as before I believe though.
