If you click on the Yor at startup, the startup techs *include* the 2 new techs (firewalls etc). If you click on another race, and then back to the Yor, the 2 new techs disappear (which is correct). as an aside, i got the startup techs a little confused in my last post, but (if I've got it right now *this* time) I believe the Korath is missing Germ Warfare in the startup list, and the Korx are missing Xeno Mysticism.
another aside - there appears to be some 'corruption' in the tech tree - i haven't nailed it yet - but at one point the AI Altarians suddenly had *basic rail guns and *enhanced rail guns (ie standard techs reclassified as racial techs), and the warp bubble techs i traded off the minors as the Korath (yes, I've finally realised by looking at the xml that they are *meant* to be there) suddenly became *warp bubble techs (ie moved from traded racial to personal racial). this may have happened on reloading a save game. just an fyi.
