Alliance option missing in DA ?

Hi there !

I was wondering for two weeks about my fleets not willing to move since adding DA. I've found the solution on the board, nice work. Fleet problem is fixed within my savegame. Thanks to the team!

During the whole game, the "Alliance" option within the diplomatic screen is missing. So there's no Alliance possible. I can't believe that none of the others has researched the tech yet. My spies tell me they have. And it's 2038 already.
And it is 2038 because there was no way to win faster. I should have made up an Alliance with 2 other races 2 years ago perhaps....
Got my point ?

Ideas, anyone ?

There is (AFAIK) an underlayer (entirely invisible) of some sort which keeps tab on any AI races attitude towards the player. Although this value is generally implied by the one-size-fits-all relation (Close then friendly, etc) between anybody, i doubt offering an Alliance is as easy as it may seem.
Considering that BOTH sides do have the tech and that their cumulative diplomatic values ---could--- somehow allow for an Alliance treaty, there are a number of other concerns, i guess.

One probably being - Ethical alignment!
Or even, some indirect natural skills provided by setting options from the starting conditions selected; it's funny how any AI reacts at higher levels which may certainly include their willingness to accept Alliance, although under specific circumstances.

I'd say that chances are MUCH better if status is indeed Friendly. I suspect an odd dice roll factor, also.

As far as I know, the "alliance" option only shows when the potential ally has a status "Close" towards you.

It looks like he's not possitive they hav it. It would be odd for them, any of them, to not have reserached it by the late game but i guess its possible.

I suggest that you go to the trad screen and see ther if you can give / sell it to them. If its not listed then that race already has it. If thats the case thn I'm at a loss as to why you can't form an alliance.

Close relations and the Alliance tech are the only factors for the alliance option to at least show up.

Sorry, can't do that. I'm playing on slow tech rate and - unfortunately - techtrading is deactivated.
