Yep, and Montreal is really gonna go ALL_THE_WAY!

(Price, Kovalev, Plekanec, The Kos'Brothers, Koivu back soon, Hamrlik, Begin, Rider, Markov, Streit, Bouillon... this team has the experience_youth_recipe for a very long & successful playoff stand.)

And, since Calgary took the first game from the Sharks last evening - i'm starting to fantasize plenty.
Ottawa is on a sleepy slope, though. Kindof.
Promises to be quite a ride.

btw... this year, the Toronto Maple Thiefs couldn't screw up the party in the very last game of the season anyway.

see at first, i was like "oh those darn Canucks are up to it again"

but anyhow, I'm from Michigan originally...so I think you can guess what team I root for...the Florida Panthers of course (no, not really)

As a Torontonian I have to hang my head in shame. Not only have the Loafs not won the cup since '67, but now they haven't made the playoffs for the last 3 seasons. So I'll be rooting for the Habs (Montreal).

LOL yeah, though I grew up on Lake Michigan across from Chicago so we had a lot of Blackhawks fans too. Funny enough, the Red Wings are the only team out of Detroit that I like at all, otherwise I'm a Windy City guy through and through

I second that!! I live in the Dallas area now, so I got really good tickets to the Reg. season game after Forsberg and Foote were back. Wore my Forsberg sweater, and was so disappointed that they didn't play. I'm hoping that the Stars and Avs will somehow get matched up in the next round or the finals, so I can see them here.

As someone who lives in Edmonton, I'm familiar with this madness. You don't find hockey fans more passionate than the Oilers fans... Rexall place is friggin' LOUD.

Yes, they have quite a history in the playoffs. I can still remember the last time they faced each other.

Finishing second in the standings was the biggest mistake SJ made, we should have angled for 8th so we could play more road games, then maybe we would have a chance...

Duh-- Everyone knows the best Hockey fans on Earth truly are from the Island of Montreal! The cradle of professional sports is here, 24 cups won already, full blast riots in the streets in 93! Fifteen years of waiting has got this town by the throat.

Just this evening they were all singing out loud from 0:34 seconds in after Kostitsyn(S) goal... it's really friggin' wild overhere.
And, it's ONE game only.

So... back to modding XWorlds.

Oh, i did alright... but, that's so far in the past (!!) i can't seem to remember every last details. Gretzky certainly was a hecka of a goal scorer though. Along with Messier and Kuri, that team *had* a lot to show for and proved it by dominating hockey four years in a row. Yet again, this has no impact on today's hype over Montreal chances to grab their 25th NHL championship. That's a whole bunch of twenty-five cups, buddy.
Only the NY-Yankees can claim being almost as much succesful in any major sports. But Baseball comes from the 19th century while hockey is a little younger (early 1910's).

Knowing how Alberta drinks its way into the nightlife, i believe party goers are probably neck & shoulders right beside the wacky French speaking mind boilers in Quebec!

I think Starstriker is talking about 2005-2006. The Oilers were 1 game away from winning the cup, but lost to the Hurricanes.

Yep, i knew about that one... but felt it was time for a good rundown over the Oilers historical wins rather than THAT wrecky_stiffy lost. Btw, Hurricanes got the carpet pulled right under their skates by a slick Washington rush to 94 points with **7** wins inarow! Slipping right through from 9th to 3rd in the standings. Hockey is really crazy stuff if you think about it.

Seen Kovalev blast upstairs and off Thomas' shoulder in OT? Hi-Hi. Next game please.
