BUG - AI forgets me after delcaring peace

AI forgets me after delcaring peace

I've not been keeping track of the forums recently so not sure if this is a known issue or not.

I was in a war with the iconians and dregin when the both offered a peace treater to me. I accepted the treaty with a little extra money. a few turns later i got their "welcome to the galaxy" message again.

This new or already known?

I am not aware of this being reported before. 

There shouldn't be a "welcome to galaxy" message again. 

Had you saved and reloaded between the time you made peace and got the message?

If you have a saved game before this occurred, please load it and try it again.  If your'e able to get the message to come up again, please zip the saved game with your debug.err file and send it to [email protected].

If it doesn't repeat the message, please send your debug.err file anyway, as it may indicate other factors which could cause this to happen.

I didnt save/load between war and peace.

i not longer have the saved game anymore to send it on, but if i can reporduce i will send it to you guys.

Did you perhaps declare war on them, before you actually met them?

(Possible through the diplomatic screen, by promising a race that you did meet to go to war with a race you didn't meet.)

Were there any actual hostilities or was it a was withour a shot being fired?

Actually it was them who declared war on me. they just couldnt get to me, so after quite a few turns they asked for peace.

And the default relationship was whatever the default is for any race, neutral? (I didnt set them as an enemy or ally before the game started)

actually that seems quite likely, the Iconians are old = Alzheimer!
And the Drengin look like they drink too much too often, so no wonder their memory is shot...

No?...

Darn.

Interesting bug though. I'll see if I can get my scientists to develop amnesia powder like that. ;)

This is probably caused by the AI declaring war on you before they had actually met you, which is caused by the Drath (or a custom Super Manipulator).  I believe that the changes I made to the FirstContact function will prevent the First Contact popup from coming up if they've already declared war on you, and I've let Brad know about the bug with the Super Manipulator.
