are there some good tech tree links out there?

Long ago I found Nethog's tech tree for Civ II, and this has been great, but I was thinking of seeing if there was something else out there as well, maybe to supplement it.  I did some searches, but am hopelessly lost for some reason.  Can anyone provide some guidance here, especially a good spreadsheet type one that lists compative values?  Sorry, if I missed something totally obvious in my search but thanks for reading and responding!

Good call, di55ec7ion. I had forgotten about that one. Do you know who wrote it?

Here is another excellent prog. It is called the Galactopedia. Netriak has updated it for TA. It works for all the versions now. Here is the link: WWW Link

MISTRALOK, THAT LINK WAS FILLED WITH VIRUSES!!!! I don't know what happened and I don't want to slander anyone, maybe I somehow got misdirected or was careless using that site, but you should check it out yourself and maybe tell me what I did wrong. That was really messed up, whatever happened.

Odd. Was there a virus in the download, or somewhere else on the site? The zip file you can download there most definitely did not contain any viruses when I just downloaded it to test. And I assembled it myself, and it is virus scanned by the upload site too, (or so it claims).

Now, the site does display some ads, unless you block them like I do. It might have something to do with that, but since the displayed ads on such sites differ depending on where you live I can hardly check whether there is something wrong with them.

And are you sure it wasn't a false positive? If there truly is a problem with that site for you, I can always upload it to a site you do not have any problems with, provided you know of one.

Btw, Netriak -- you could always simply upload it right here in the Library section where accessing would obviously be much easier for anyone.
Not that i'm against external sources but it's true that traffic can get a little messy in certain places contrary to the SD site which has proven to be reliable enough for most needs.

As for the OP "request" - i am actually working on an alternate utility which may just answer it; GTeChnos will probably not be ready for awhile as i need to develop the X-Worlds mod further and might even have to fiddle a few things to adapt it to TotA features & so on. Matter of priorities, i guess.

Check out the 'X-Worlds News & Comments' thread in the Modding section for a quick glimpse at the current (incomplete but nearing a beta phase) GTeChnos interface. I sooooo wish i had more time to work on that one, though.
Until then, i would agree that Galactopedia is an absolute must.

True, I could upload it to the library, but as far as I know every library entry needs to be manually approved, which is annoying. However, provided that updates do not require further approval, and can thus be available in a timely manner, it would be a suitable alternative.
Do you know whether that is the case?

Bof, ya know if SD staff has decided to maintain control over their bandwidth & upload space with sturdy monitoring of content and, as a result, small delays in the approval of files -- i don't care much.

See, i already have near 30MBS worth of zips in that library and it really doesn't matter if my stuff remains pending for a few days until it shows up in the database when i update those files. As long as it's there for anyone to get once approved, my patience is almost irrelevant.

True, such small delays are not that important. And I can always use such an external service to provide the ability to download an update before the approval process has completed if necessary. So I guess I will upload it to the library then, since it does have its advantages.

Edit: I just uploaded the latest version to the library:
Library download link

It looks like approval was not required for some reason, (no longer neccecary), since I could download it immediately, even when not logged in.

You only need approval to have it displayed in the listings, not to be available for download.

hmm, i hadn't thought about the ads not being the same for everyone. Well, sorry if I overreacted. I do appreciate your help. That really freaked me out though - last time I had an infection like that it was a grim situation. It's ok. I actually decided to manually create a spreadsheet with all the combined values of costs to help me determine the value of any given tech - well, in theory anyway, since Im sure diff computer players assign diff values to to diff techs. Anyway, thanks again.
