Twilight hangs at boot screen

Recently my RAID0 array died so when rebuilding my machine I decided to take the plunge and install XP pro x64. Since then I reinstalled GalCiv2 and all the expansions. Everything seems to run well (original game, dark avatar) except twilight. When I click on the icon part of my screen goes black and it just sits there. Before the crash/rebuild of my system on my XP pro 32bit OS it ran fine.

I run other games like civ4, vampire:bloodlines and such ok as well under my current OS. So I know this is not a system wide issue.

Any input or help appreciated

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on your game version:

Dread Lords, all versions:

Dark Avatar 1.5-1.6 (non-Vista):

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Kryo, thank you for the reply. Also I should amend my previous comment the other versions of galciv2 hang up as well. So no version of galciv2 seems to be running. But here is the arnor and dark avatar logs. Any help appreciated, thank you!

Go to My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar (or GC2TwilightArnor for TA), open the file prefs.ini, and make the following changes:

Change
DisplayWidth=1024
DisplayHeight=768
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=1

To
DisplayWidth=(Your desktop width)
DisplayHeight=(Your desktop height)
ColorDepth=32
Fullscreen=0

Then save the file and start the game.
