Beta 6- Is Ascension working yet?

Hi,

I recently booted up a game to see if the Ascension victory was working. After a few hours on a small map I had acheived the Ascension victory only to see the Defeat screen with no writing. And my score slashed from its normal 15-25k(I know thats not too high but at least its something) to a horrible embarssing 567pts. So I assume this means I Lost?

 I then loaded the Game, from a previous save, and won a Military victory which lo-and-behold neted me 22,056 pts. Just though I should mention it, anybody else having this problem?

Perhaps it's not a retroactive fix and you'll need a fresh game made in beta 6 for it to work.

Acension victory appears to still not be functioning properly. Also noticed the bug where stars etc take on the description of the Ascension crystals. I'm really not sure what is different between Beta 5 and 6. Anyone seen a change log anywhere?

Really? In the past, previous beta games still worked once a new beta came out. How many of the changes were seen however was the issue at hand. So they "worked".

As for the OP. I've now ran a game through myself made in beta 6 and still haven't had ascension work properly. This was with a custom race however. Later on I'll try with a stock race to see if there is a difference.

Woops, I think that post belonged in another thread...

I just know that I was crashing when I tried to load into my halfway finished immense galaxy game. That suxxored.

Except for the immense bit, because my computer doesn't like them.

Shame to hear about ascension victories, time to change strategy...

Yep, Me too. Started new game in beta6, Custom Race, Got to 1000 ascension, instant defeat, lowest overall score evar.

I just won a game via ascention - nice endgame video, but microscopic score !!! 1400 !!!

Jim, were you a stock race or a custom race in that game? I think most of the posts about still no ascension was involving the player being a custom race.

Tried an ascension in the new Beta 6a, the bug is still there, using stock Drengin in the 'Drengin Gambit' tournament.

I always play custom race based on the Terrans... indeed I saw no bug, just very low score for someone that just won... I barely shot my guns the whole game, only to take minor race planets and a few pirates... the aliens grumbled that I was trying an ascention victory, but never did anything about it...
