Little dissapointed with the devs

Little dissapointed with the devs

More info?

I love stardock, i love galciv II and all its expansions, i love Sins of a solar empire.
But i'm a bit dissapointed with the way TA is being handled. No info and the beta's aren't really get updated either.
It was said that the game would be released sometimes next month, but we still have 4 or 5 editors to be tested in the beta's and with the current speed we wont see a release this whole year.
Now if there are problems of delay's, no problem but please let me know so i know what the status of the game is.
Right now i'm login in every day to see if there is a news update or a new beta, but everyday the result is the same.

Sigh on the no new expansions, this means the one thing I wanted fixed/changed won't happen now.

What's that?

No new expansions to galciv2....that doesn't mean that the galciv line itself is done after this expansion. There is always #3

Thanks Frogboy for the info! And don't apologize for a fantastic game just for no info. Enough said!

Thanks for the update FB (and the imminent beta, for that matter). If I may ask, why are you going to be "unable" to make further expansion packs after this?

Being a developer myself I can fully understand this. Release dates are just good wishes that get missed way too often.

Gotta agree with some of the other posters, a bit more communication would be nice. Unless you're too busy ;)

Well met me first say that I wholeheartedly apologize to anyone who is disappointed in the release date being pushed back. - goign to be a lot better game than any of us had anticipated when we first started.

Thank you for the update Frogboy :D

Please understand most of us are not overly concerned about the due date, more about the lack of recent communication on what is happening etc. Its always good to hear from you and we know TA will be a spectacular end to GCII!

Thanks for the update Frogboy. You can sleep well knowing that you've put to rest many fan's worries now about the game... not that you wouldn't have slept well anyway of course :P

Well, he said April. Can't be later than the last day of april if they hold to that...

Well... because they offered preorder, I'm sure we're all slightly disappointed that the release date is being pushed back. For most of us, I think, that's far outweighed by the facts that we love Stardock, love the new features, love the AI updates, the editors... etc.

Think logically: yes, it's disappointing... but the alternative is no preordering.

But that just means they can finish their other projects faster, so they can get cracking on GC3. ;)

You guys want delays, try waiting like we did for the Orange Box and Team Fortress 2.

I got a better one Zellio, if you want to know about delayed games, have you ever heard of Duke Nukem Forever. Now that's DELAYED!

Yea, hehe, I really liked that last Duke Nukem release of some years ago. The seqeuel has had the world's longest development cycle for sure.

As with any game I adore, the notion of a sequel to GC2 scares the hell out of me. I'm confidant that expansions will do nothing but improve the product. A complete redesign, on the other hand,(and especially a complete redesign that includes multiplayer) has the potential to be a complete disaster.

I have zero concern that a "GC3" would be a let down after GC2. Stardock seems to do new games in a big way and I have very confidence they'll do something really interesting when the time comes.

I wanted an expansion to expand on events/political parties/UP system of GC2.

Me too, there's still a lot of potential here.

I prefer taking risks, attempting to achieve greatness, than just settling for mediocrity (or, in this case, very good). I'd rather they apply what they've learned about game design from this game to another, rather than just slapping on more and more features.
