TA is download only. So you won't be able to get it through EB games.

If you get it now, you can download the beta- and play it today, which is in a good state right now. Finished product won't be until end of March though.

So basically it's ready when you want to pay for it.

What do you guys mean by download only. You mean it will not be released out on retail. I buy all my stardock games via retail. Please, please, tell me you guys will be releasing via the retail outlet store like EB games channel sometime.

Updates on TA have been few since the release of Sins of a Solar Empire, mostly because Brad is having to coordinate these two projects as well as try and release The Political Machine this summer. That's a lot of stuff at one time, especially when he's involved in the AIs so much. And update would be nice, though.

If I order TA and download it, will i be able to get it in a form i can put on digital media myself? I like to have a physical medium for the case i do want to play but not having an internet connection.

Besides - what about the retail design of the box, TA is advertised with on this site? Only a fake?

It's simply a mockup, as is the DA box.

If you have the download only version, you can back it up with SDC, though it will require a one-time activation either at install or first run (you can do this before backing it up so the activation is saved with the archive). If you want a more traditional backup, the disc versions have a standard installer with no activation in the on-disc version (though you would need to activate once you updated the game from that copy).

We're going to announce our finalize beta and release schedule shortly. Release Date is April. Part of that reason is we're upgrading our back end to have new features (like Impulse) and the other part is that I really want as much time as I can get away with to keep tweaking the computer AI before I have to move on to The Political Machine.

Brad- do you do all the AI for SD? And coordinate projects? And stay active in forums? And have a family? Are you sure Frogboy/Draginol/Brad aren't all different people?

Conspiracy theory- Brad used the Multiplicity software on himself! ;)

Ahhhh... The Politcal Machine. So that's where the graphics came from for the example mod they made a while back.

Not to be patronizing, but are the 6 BILLION little obvious bugs that have crept through every patch going to be fixed by then? Things like the Xalax / Zalon module, the Thalan tech tree missing critical things, etc.
