Fleets unable to move w/Dark Avatar

Dark Avatar 1.80g.100

I recently installed Dark Avatar on laptop, and have found that fleets are not working correctly.
Whenever I form a fleet, and try to move it, the movement for the fleet changes to "X/0" (where X is the fleets
movement), and nothing happens.  The destination marker is never set on the star map, and the ships don't move.

If I break the fleet up, I can move each individual ship fine.  Ships not in a fleet move fine.

NOTE: I have a Vista desktop that does not have this problem; saved games from the desktop that do not have this problem
also have this problem on the laptop.

This problem is 100% repeatable on the laptop.

Laptop configuration:

Dell M90
Windows XP Pro version 2002, SP2
T2600 cpu (2.1Ghz)
2GB RAM

I totaly have the same problem. Let's call this the DA 1.8 "fleet auto pilot issue"

It occurred after an upgrade to DA 1.8.

Smame simptoms as you. Can break apart and seperatly auto pilot, and move the fleet one turn worth of moves only.

I can moves fleets in TA latest verison.

I thought it had to do with the fleet battles or instant battles section. I had changes those settings to play the star trek mod. Uninstalled mod. Re-installed DA still same problem in 1.8.

It's a pain, because it makes playing in the latter rounds really frustrating when trying to move, engage your fleets in battle.

Any help or ideas from anyone are greatly appreciated.

Thankyou!!!!

You have 1.80e, not 1.80g.

Download this and then run SDC to update DA. You can open it via Notepad or send it through your favorite virus scanner if you're concerned about the contents; it's clean. It changes your DA version number to 1.7 so SDC will properly update DA.

Don't forget to have SDC as well as DA closed when you do this.

You may need to change your server to US-1, via Tools-->Settings:Internet in SDC. Refreshing XML Data in the same screen may also be necessary.

SDC says that I have 1.80g.100 (downloaded DA this past weekend) and I still have this issue. (on a laptop)

For the upgrade, is it a matter of the wrong version shown in SDC?

(I'm also on US-1)

Yes, MadDjinn, SDC is reporting the version number incorrectly. (Why, I don't know.) But the fix-or rather, one way to fix it-is above in my original post in this thread.

I actually thought my instructions were fairly simplistic, and exported the registry key in the first place in an attempt to make things less complicated when people run into this problem. My apologies if I wasn't clear enough.

I don't honestly know why people are still running into this problem, but following either my instructions or Cari's instructions should fix it.

You can find the original details, with the "long" instructions, here: https://forums.galciv2.com/167594

Ok thanks. Considering how long this post has been up, I was just checking if Stardock managed to fix SDC since then.
