Beta 5 first bug found

I want to report a first bug, fortunaly after some 10 turn in a new game...
It seems that, the position of a ascension crystal does not take into account already occupied coordinate points aka parsec. In my game, I clicked on a newly discovered star, and it gives the ascension description, leading me to think "under" the star got a crytal generated and placed. Maybe there is something wrong with the generation order? Just a guess... If you need the savegame, let me know...
I've uploaded the savegame... http://galciv2ide.i-mod-productions.com/Downloads/tabid/54/language/de-DE/Default.aspx

LOL, have you tried blowing the star up then getting to the crystal?

Lol, if that is an intended feature/behaviour , then it very misleading ;) and it should be displayed/indicated differently

C'mon, they have to hide them somehow don't they?

Think about it....it would be a benefit to the first race that gets a TS there. Of course it would be a FFA after that point.

Lemme know if the crystal is remaining after you blow that star up (if you can). If so, I'd call that a FEATURE not a BUG :)

You may be right, and I'll do that over the weekend.but still I think, it is not
best solution to hiding, since the crystals description says "build a Sb on me" and you can't see the stars stats.
However, Iprobably wasn't thinking enough before posting, and everybody has got a good laugh into the weekend :D

"build a star base on me" classic....

Have you also tried to get a constructor to it? It would be cool to have a STARbase. Suck on that Dr. Evil...

Actually it does seem to be a bug. I get it as well. I have that text displayed on all non-colonised planets and all stars. I noticed it after clicking on the Ascension Crystal so I'll go play some more to check if it happens before I click on it.

EDIT: I checked. Stuff is displayed normally until you find an Ascension Crystal and click on it. Then the description stays for planets and stars.

Oh, well, next week I guess? We don't want to overstress our lovely Stardockians :)

Dito, the star description is gone once you click on an ascension crystal.

Xalax defense coordinator and the similar component right next to it on the tech tree are attached to the wrong tech. They require steller defense even though they have their own techs. Their techs currently do nothing.

Ditto, and it doesn't go away when I reload or start a new game.
End of quote

True, but it will go away if you close out and restart. Of course, that will only help until you click on an AC again. Also noticed if you start a new game without closing out and uncheck Ascension victory, the game will ignore you and you will still get tons of AC's.
