Metaverse annoying! :-(

I was not online when finishing my 1st game (v1,00; didn´t get a prompt or anything.

I went online, back to autosave, finished a 2nd time. I had been playing a small game, average opponents, cultural victory, though when uploading the opponents were shown as sub-normal, why?

My entry reads as opponents: N/A, morality: N/A, and doesn´t even say I won! >:( >:(

You have to update to a later version to get the extra info on your metaverse submission.

Thanks; anyways, why did I get only 73 points for a win on normal difficulty? (I can understand why I don´t get thousands for that, but 73?!? :( )

Because they have changed the score calculation in the last release.
It is a little bit frustrating to see the low scores for new games and in the same list the high scores for the old games.

STARDOCK ....... PLEASE SOLVE THIS !!!!!!!!!!

Coffee: Up the size of your galaxy.

Femap: They are in the process of adjusting some of the old scores to the new specs. They already tossed those that obviously couldn't happen. Takes a bit of time.
Coffee: Oh and I too have no specs on my first score. I played a game then updated to ver3. You'll get your specs posted then. And it is not at all made clear you have to go on line before you hit done on your final score screen to be taken to the submit screen. Perhaps they'll add a little prompt in one of the updates??? That would be very helpful.

The score should not depend so much on size. Obviously it´s more difficult to win against intelligent opponents on small, compared to average opponents on gigantic; score should reflect that.

It does.

Hey Frog you mean they've adjusted that now too? Coolios. Ahhh support, the lost and now found art of computer games. Bring em all down to my stinky score level. Yeah!!!

P.s. Coffee, you might join my new G.R.O.S.S. Get Rid Of Slimy alienS empire. Once you get the new version, and it records allignment, only 5 demonic games to be a senator!!! LOL

Bloodthirster: With that name you should dump apolyton and join G.R.O.S.S. Get Rid of Slimy alienS empire.

When the game ends and you have the score screen don't hit done. alt-tab out of the game to your desktop Log on to the net, then go back to the game (it should be minimized) and hit done. It will then take you to the submission screan. It will submit for ya.

If you aren't logged on and hit done, it will just end. You won't get a prompt. At least that happenned to me.

Also note: You must register your name character name with the metaverse prior to attempting to submit.

"It does."

Hi, Frogboy. I still don´t understand why I get only 73 points for a victory against 5 average opponents on a small map. It didn´t feel that easy.

My compliments for the Ai, but the score system feels out-of-whack. ;p

Thanks, only one problem: My usual strategies tend toward pragmatism (being neutral diplo master, and playing the good and evil guys off against each other). :)

I have tried to submitt my game at least 10 times.

I am logged on, I have the metaverse window open, I have registered my name. I win the game, but it WILL NOT register!!!!

Can I have step by step instructions. I should get a message telling me my game as been successfully uploaded, or I should be able to serach and find my name, but no luck.

This is VERY annoying.

Thanks in advance for the help :CONGRAT:

If you registered on the Metaverse site and then bought Drengin.net, that's the problem. Reregister with the Drengin key and it'll find your games.

Freddybear, I do don't have Drengin.net. I just have the normal game. I have uploaded stardock. Do I need to register with Stardock.

The game is good, but the way you upload to the Metaverse needs a patch!!!

Freddybear, I openned up Stardock. I have Drengin.net highlight - it where I get the updates from. How do I register?

On the web browser, go to Galciv.com and select the Metaverse tab. Click on "Register your player". That will take you to a panel where you can put in your nickname and the key.

If you just have the galciv game, you can use the CD key and it'll work OK.

You can find information on purcasing the drengin.net subscription at

Freddybear, thanks for the information, but no luck. I tried all that and I still can't get my game to upload.

I wanted to finish the version 1.02 game before I download the new version. Its my first game everyone normal on a medium map. Can I not upload because it is version 1.02 and the newest game is version 1.03?

I should get a message "Successful upload into Metaverse". or I should get an error message, "Metavesrse upload failed for xxx reason"

I get nothing

You don't get a metaverse message when you submit.

Have you linked your account here with your metaverse entries?

I hate to say this but in basically every case we've seen it's been an issue of the player not registering their player:

Maybe the Metaverse submission code could check for these conditions. It's anything but obvious how the pieces fit together.

Frogboy, I have registered Jourin at least 5 times. I used the link that you gave and registered again. I get the reply that Jourin has been successfully registered.

While on line with the metaverse web page open to the Galciv site, I hit the turn button on the game. It takes me to the winner screen and tells me I won through a cultural victory, on two empires left, each with two planets and 1 neutral - medium size, everyone normal.

I then press done and the metaverse web site opens, while the Galciv game closes.

I enter Jourin and do a search - no entries. My assumption is that the upload failed.

Jourin, was your connection established before you hit your victory condition and subsequent summary screen? What type of connection are you on if you dont mind me asking?

Also make sure the email and screen name on the submission screen matches metaverse.

What you seem to be reporting is that you don't get a submission screen at all. What that tells me is that your connection may be offline at the time you need to submit. I've had only one instance myself where the submission screen didn't come up and that was because my DSL connection burped.

For the record my scroe is 8987 (441 mpts).

Yes the connection was established. I am using AOL. I am not getting any submission screen. I click done and Galciv closes. I will try again right now.

OK same thing happened, no submission screen. Do I need to do this through stardock?

If I am not connected, then hitting done bring up the main menu. When I hit metaverse, it logs me on to AOL and then opens up the Galciv metaverse we site, but still NO submission screen.

Freddybear, how do I register with the drenigin key instead of the CD key? Where do I get the drenigin key.

An no I am not going to subcrib just to upload my score.
